In Chicago United’s (CU’s) season opener match at the American Cricket Conference, Patriots won the toss and elected to field. Due to rains the match was reduced to 28 overs. Patriots picked up an early wicket of an unorthodox opener Neil Shah while Anirudh A batted very well (47 in 58 balls). Skipper Sami Khan built his innings very well and showered several maximums to score 84 (not out) in 44 balls. Keshav Kalia and Sami built a 90 runs 4th wicket partnership. Adnaan Khan and Keshav Kalia made impactful contributions with the bat and ran well between the wickets to put up a total of 202 runs in 28 overs.Patriots openers Dhuruv Patel and Randy Brown (54 in 34) got off to an aggressive start against CU bowler Sharvan Kumar, a development player. However, Patriots batting struggled against the experienced Najam Iqbal (6-1-10-4). Soon after Adnaan Khan picked up Randy’s wicket the rest of the batting crashed. Sumukha Prasanna picked up a wicket in his third ball to wrap up the Patriots batting in the 17th over for 98 all out. #PlayCricket#ChicagoUnited
