TITANS OUTPLAYED BY CU’s BATSMEN (Hasan 100* in 54 balls)
By Sumukha Prasanna

Chicago United’s traditional debutant RED CAP ceremony was performed to set the stage for an exciting match. A great motivational talk by CU President Mr. Nadeem Zain gave the team lots of enthusiasm to perform well.
Chicago United, won the toss and elected to bat on a bright, hot and windy day at Washington Park, Chicago.
First wicket partnership of 101 runs by Yaseen(58) and Akhil Ahuja (41) provided “cannon” Hasan and Donieke a platform to follow thru. While fasting, “Cannon” Hasan (100 not out in 54 balls : 7 6’s and 8 4’s), roughed the bat and Donieke (64 runs) demonstrated good batting skills with his experience. The 3rd wicket partnership of 164 was broken in the last over of the innings by Donieke. CU posted 294/3 on the board. Titans has lots of room to develop better fielding. Umair and Mohsin at on point bowled well for the Titans.
Going into bat, Titans never looked comfortable facing Askari’s spot on bowling. Speedster Askari claimed 3 wickets and rest of the CU bowlers bowled equally well to dismiss Titans for 138 in 38.2 overs and wrap up the match . Titans managed to stretch their innings into last two overs.
“Cannon” Hasan’s rare second consecutive century along with his century run celebration will make great memories for all that witnessed. Worthy of celebrating!
