ST.LOUIS DROPS TO HASAN (112 in 61) and YASEEN (95)

Ninety degrees and in mid country, St Louis – Chicago United (CU) was hosted by St Louis at Hazelwood complex. CU started gaining traction right away with openers Yaseen and Akhil Ahuja, without losing their first wicket until the 14th over. St Louis bowlers were successful in picking up a few wickets at regular intervals. However CU batting of Hasan Bemat (112 in 61 balls) and Koti Vanga (45 in 20 balls) complimented the efforts of the openers Yaseen (95) and Akhil (42). CU was dominant and stacked up 351 runs in 40 overs. Throughout the innings, Tariq picked up 3 crucial wickets for St Louis.
Hasan scored his century while fasting. He picked up nine maximums and five boundaries at a whooping strike rate of 183.61! The stylish batmen’s effort was supported by all-rounder Koti’s aggressive willow activities.
Going into bat, St. Louis had an aggressive start. However, they lost their first wicket at 33. Raghu opened the bowling attack for CU. Bowlers picked up wickets at regular intervals while Umair Ghani was most impactful with four wickets supported by Koti’s economy rate of 3.33. St. Louis’s batting top order was impressively aggressive but in vain as they collapsed at 180 all out
In another match at BPL, Deccan M had an edge over CU over a low scoring match. Batting first, CU’s score was easily chased down by Deccan M.
Indeed two contrasting results!
