TITANS DEFEAT REDS. HAWKS AND DOMINATORS LOSE TO CHICAGO UNITED

At CASO: CU vs Dominators: Winner – Chicago United by 8 wickets Dominators won the toss and elected to bat against CU led by Hasan Bemat . Dominators got off to an aggressive start with Sohel Patel scoring 18 of 9 balls which could not last long as Adnaan Khan (Adnaan Yar Khan) got him out bowled on his second over. CU bowlers did a very good job picking up wickets at regular intervals restricting Dominators to 154 in 25 overs. Nadeem William bowled an excellent spell of fast bowling picking up 2 wickets for 17 runs from 6 overs, well accompanied by Abdul Kareem ( Kaxim Kareem 4-0-24-2), Afroze Ul Haq (4-0-31-3), and Adnaan Khan (3.3-0-32-2). Coming to bat, CU was given a target of 155 to chase. Shayan Ali was sent to open with the in-form batsman Anirudh Jonnavitula . CU got off to a flying start before Shayan got dismissed for 27 runs of 25 balls. Anirudh continued his form to score 86 not out of 55 balls with 9 fours and 5 sixers giving a comfortable win for CU chasing 155 in 16 overs.

At ACC: Chicago United vs. Hawks: Winner – Chicago United by 31 runs Chicago United (led by Hasan) won the toss and decided to bat on a sunny morning in the good-looking Vernon Hills ground. Anirudh – 51 off 31 (4 4’s and 3 6’s) picked up his innings from the previous game along with Venkatesh Naidu (22) to give CU a solid start before Venkatesh was trapped leg in the 9th over. CU’s middle order looked in fine touch; Hasan – 59 off 42 (4 4’s and 2 6’s), Nikhil (20), Shayan – 44 off 32, and Sachin Veerasammy – 25 (1 four and 2 6’s) kept adding to CU score before Adnaan went in full blood scoring 20 off 5 with 3 maximums giving Hawks a huge target of 260. Hawks openers Shwetal and Ranga gave them a blistering start scoring boundaries in every over until Najam Bakshi broke the 94-run partnership. The next 5 Hawks wickets costed CU only 24 runs from 7 overs, courtesy of some great disciplined bowling from Najam Iqbal (6-1-28-3), Nadeem William (6-0-36-2), and Deepak Paulswamy (6-0-36-3). Hawks’ lower middle order showed some fearless batting but were 31 runs short of the target.

At UCL: Chicago Reds vs. Titans: Winner – Titans by 4 wickets Reds won the toss and elected to bat on a Sunday afternoon at Skokie sports complex. Chicago reds top order played cautiously for 51 runs at the end of 10 overs. Batting exploits from Kareem – 60 off 34 balls (7 4’s and 2 6’s) and Anirudh – 36 off 12 (3 4’s and 3 6’s) supported by Adithya N Tirumale (23) and Shravan Kumar (21) took Reds to a competitive total of 173 in 20 overs. Titans counter attacked from the very first over scoring boundaries in each over. Salman K scored 70 off 47 assisted by Mohsin and Hanif to overcome Kareem’s good spell (3 wickets).
