Under Chicago’s scorching heat index of 100, Chicago United won all their games across CASO, ACC and UCL in back-to-back hat-trick wins weekend. All Starts vs Chicago United : CASO CU played star studded All Stars in the CASO game. All Stars winning the toss decided to bat first. They got off with a steady start facing disciplined bowling by Adnaan and Arron who picked 2 wickets each. Ravi Teja top scored for All Stars with a well-paced innings of 67 from 65 balls. Ashar Mehdi (8), Shaheer Hassan (27) and Ravi Niro Rajasingham (29 n.o) made their contributions. Quick fire in the middle order batting helped All Stars post a challenging target of 214 from the allotted 30 overs. While Najam Iqbal was rested due to an injury, former Pakistan first class pacer Nadeem Williams debuted for CU. CU had a shaky start but Hasan Bemat – 76 of 55 (5 4’s and 4 6’s) and Sachin Veerasammy – 56 of 42 (2 4’s and 3 6’s) with solid striking of the cricket ball helped CU get closer to the target while Adnan (Adnaan Yar Khan ) finished the game with a confident and stylish maximum! Chicago Gymkhana vs Chicago United : ACCChicago United played Chicago Gymkhana in the ACC league, CU won the toss and elected to bat on a very hot Sunday. Anirudh Jonnavitula and Venkatesh Naidu (Venky) opened for CU and got off to a quick start. Anirudh was looking especially in good touch once again and scored a fluent 65 of 43 (2 4s and 5 6s). Venky and Shayan Ali built the innings after Anirudh’s dismissal each scoring 56. Skipper Sami M Khan and Hasan Bemat contributed 31 and 33 respectively taking CU to a dominating score of 257/3. Chicago Gymkhana got off to a flying start but later collapsed with quick wickets owing to the big chase. Umair Ghani, playing in his first game of the season, picked up 4 wickets with some amazing spin. Sami khan supported Umair by picking up 3 wickets as well. The game ended with CU winning with a massive 105 run margin.Chicago Reds vs Hawks : UCL On the same afternoon, Chicago Reds CU’s development team faced the Hawks at beautiful Vernon Hills ground. Hawks won the toss and elected to bat first, they faced some excellent display of bowling from the Reds bowlers especially Mohammed Samiuddin who picked up 4 wickets assisted by Aaron Fernandes and Srivatsa who picked 2 wickets each with Girish Kumar picking up a wicket.
