While Chicago United’s ‘Men in Red’ were warming-up in scorching heat, Anjuman won the toss and elected to bat. Anjuman got off to a flying start with Ahsan Syed 53 (37). Nadeem William bowled a tight spell picking up three wickets. Ayaz Patel continued his good batting form scoring 66 (36) taking Anjuman to a challenging score of 224/10 in their allocated 30 overs.Chicago United opened their batting with Anirudh Jonnavitula and Venkatesh Naidu. They got off to a quick start with Anirudh scoring 21 (10) before getting out brilliantly caught. Najam Iqbal then joined Venkatesh to put up a 135 runs partnership to lead CU batting . Najam was looking in fine touch with several hits across the boundary. Venkatesh was especially impressive with some quick running between the wickets and good punches at the ball. Anjuman picked up Najam and Venkatesh in quick succession at 159 runs, tilting the game in their favor. CU needed 30 off 3 overs with skipper Sami M Khan and Nadeem Williams at the crease.
