Chicago United Vs Evanston MWCC 40/40 Game Review:

On a beautiful Saturday morning, individuals arrived earlier and participated in stretching and warm up routines. Soon after, the very symbolic CU’s ‘Red Cap’ ceremony was conducted. This included, the classic ‘Red Cap’ presentation to every player, profile and team pictures were taken, some good laughs and smiles at the CU camp, donuts, chai etc. Perfect way to set the tone for the upcoming match.

The game began with Evanston winning the toss and electing to bat first. CU started the bowling and the rustiness showed as they bowled more extras than they should have. Evanston started off well by batting well in the first 8-10 overs.CU pulled them back and Evanston was 68/1 after 20 overs. This is when all bowlers picked up steam and turned around as Evanston was all out in about 30 odd overs for 119 runs. Valkal was magical with the ball with 4-0-11-2. CU started batting with debutants Shahmeer and Safdar. Both have been in the MwCC circuit for several years and know the Washington Park pitches very well. The score was chased in around 16-17 overs with no wicket loss as both openers scored 50+ not out. A great game and victory overall!

Chicago United Vs Combine Starts – BPL 30/30 Game Review:

Chicago United played against Combine Stars on 5/3/15. CU won the toss and elected to bat first. Krishna and Yaseen opened batting and gave a good start before Krishna was caught out. Sameer went in, one down and had a 170+ run partnership with Yaseen. Sameer scored 60+ and Yaseen scored 120+. These batsman were well supported by the remaining team who went in to bat past 22 overs mark. CU scored 327+ runs in 30 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Combine Stars chase against CU was very shaky as CU did well to continuously take wickets every few overs which ended up seeing Combine Stars all out around the 13-14 overs mark as they scored less than 100 runs. The bowlers all did really well in this game. It was a great overall game as well as the weekend for Chicago United.

Yaseen Shaik, 2014 MVP was presented the ‘Player of the Week‘ award for his brilliant batting of 123 runs in 71 balls against Combine Stars in BPL.
