Chicago United awarded BEST FRANCHISE TEAM at BPL AWARDS

Recently, BPL hosted its Annual Awards and Gala Dinner at Bolingbrook Golf Course in Bolingbrook, IL. It was a packed audience and well-organized event attended by cricketers, families, city officials, diplomats, sponsors etc.

For all its accomplishments in 2014, Chicago United (CU) was recognized as “The best Franchise” team. The exquisite crystal trophy was received by CU’s President / Owner Nadeem Zain.

In his short inspirational speech to the audience, Mr. Zain recognized the team efforts of CU players and thanked CU fans for their support. He stressed the importance of “team” approach as opposed to the “I” approach. In order to further develop cricket in the region, he asked all the cricket teams to have a structured approach and cricketers to play the game with at most seriousness.

In conclusion, Mr. Zain thanked BPL, Village of Bolingbrook and Bolingbrook Park District for providing cricketers the infrastructure to play cricket. In his good luck wishes to the cricketer, he said “Let’s up the ‘game’, together and good luck for the upcoming 2015 season”.

Several stunning and unique trophies were presented to individual players and teams. BPL’s 2014 winners and runners up teams were delighted to receive their most glittering unique trophies. During the event, a few important announcements were made. Most important of all, the USA premier league to be operational in 2015 and the new ‘state-of-art’ cricket ground. A classic bat, used by former Pakistani captain; Imran Khan was auctioned away to raise funds for the BPL’s Youth Academy. Much deserved, funding to develop youth cricketers.
