HASAN, WATSON & SHAYAN LEAD CU to SF

Chicago United defeated Tornado by 69 runs and Midwest Gymkhana by 7 wickets.
In the match against Tornado, CU won those and elected to bat. Dhruv Patel picked up two quick back to back wickets in the first over putting CU on the back-foot at 3 for 2 wkts at the end of 1st over. Tristann Coleman and Shayan Ali (51) built a valuable innings with 93 runs partnership. In form Hasan Bemat, went on to be a loose cannon to fire 58 in 21 balls. With a few balls remaining, Skipper Sami M Khan and Ahmed Askari contributed with several maximums to set a target of 209 in 20 overs .
Tornado’s batting was challenged by CU’s bowlers from the very first over and they picked up regular wickets. Dakshal (34) and Fiyaz (39) made an impact to Tornado’s score yet they fell short by 69 runs.
In another match against Midwest Gymkhana, CU was asked to field first . Christopher Watson dismantled the Midwest Gymkhana batting with the ball (4-0-10-5) and came back to drive CU batting with his valuable 38 runs in 31. CU won by 7 wickets chasing a low score of 80 runs .
Cougars will face Chicago United in the semis.
